About Zyta's Creatures

Zyta's Creatures was founded by me, Zyta, an animal enthusiast whose love for exotics began under the bright sun in Cyprus. Growing up surrounded by nature, I developed a fascination with the unusual and extraordinary. When my family moved to the UK, that passion came with me. 

By the age of nine, I was already keeping and caring for exotic pets. This began with an Indian stick insect called Frank, but grew to include a host of reptiles, amphibians, mammals, fish, invertebrates and birds. My journey lead me to study animal care at college and Zoology at university, and further to hands-on work in the animal industry from zookeeping, to aquatics, to specialist reptile care. 

In 2023 I made the leap into education, and realised I could bring both worlds together and share the wonder of animals with others. Zyta's Creatures was born of that idea: to make the magic of the animal world accessible to everyone, to inspire curiosity, and to promote both conservation & awareness and excellent captive welfare.

Our mission is simple: to make animal education accessible, exciting, and engaging for everyone no matter their age, ability, or background. At heart, I'm just an animal nerd who wants to share her fascination with the natural world and help others discover how incredible it truly is. 

Through fun, hands-on encounters and fascinating facts, I aim to break down fear and inspire respect for all creatures. 

Beyond that, Zyta's Creatures is built on a belief that keeping animals is a privilege, not a right. Every animal in our care deserves the chance to thrive, not just survive. By promoting high welfare standards and deeper understanding of animal needs, I hope to encourage others to provide the best possible lives for the animals they keep. 

Ultimately, it's about connection. Facilitating others to marvel at the incredible adaptations, behaviours, and beauty of the animals we share our planet with.

Every booking with Zyta's Creatures is unique. I'm committed to making each one a special experience tailored to your audience, setting, and any specific needs or requests. My goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and memorable encounter for everyone involved.

For parties, the focus is on fun and excitement! I love seeing the wonder on children's faces when they meet the animals up close. While the sessions are full of laughter and energy, they're also designed to leave children with a sense or respect and understanding for the creatures they meet (and hopefully a few cool facts to share later!). 

For schools and educational sessions, my approach is to show that learning is exciting. Animal education can be hands-on, engaging, and full of "wow" moments, all while supporting the National Curriculum in areas like science, literacy, and PSHE (see the Packages page for more details). 

Zyta's Creatures also visits care homes, nurseries, community events, private homes, weddings, adult birthdays, and just about anywhere else that's happy to host our animals. Whether it's sparking excitement, brining calm and understanding, or simply creating unforgettable memories; I'll do my best to make it happen!
